I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to use this place for… it’s most likely it will be things like Companies I Won’t Do Business With (otherwise known as the list of companies who have spammed me… sorry, I misspoke… what I meant to say was… companies who have engaged in email marketing and sent me unsolicited emails or who have provided information to facilitate such activities… in essence companies I never plan on doing business with because of their marketing/business tactics breath) and other dynamic things more suited to a Notion database than the static content of my MkDocs based blog. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what transpires 😃
Companies I Won’t Do Business With
Clearly this is built with Notion, so a little transparency is in order… Do I like Notion? Yes, absolutely. Do I gain financially or otherwise from recommending Notion? No, I actually pay for a plan. Am I affiliated in anyway with Notion? Absolutely not. I like it and recommend it because at the very base level, beyond the writing capabilities it provides, it allows you to collect related data together in one place. From there, it makes it easy to build out systems that interconnect the data in new and useful ways, systems that could take a while to get together using traditional development approaches.
Is it the perfect solution? Hell no! Software rarely is regardless of where it sits on the scale of entirely bespoke to off the shelf. Using Notion, unless you have some very complex requirements, I suspect you can achieve a good workable fit for a lot of the data driven systems you may need for your business operations/personal projects. They do have a Notion consultant list, I’m not on it because I’m not about to go hoop jumping to prove my capabilities.
